All of our breakfast cereals with the Green Banner have whole grain as the #1 ingredient. ### WHERE WERE SHREDDIES INVENTED? Shreddies is a breakfast cereal that was first produced in the UK in 1953, made by Nestlé Cereal Partners.   ### How are Shreddies® made? First, wheat grains are milled to release the flour while keeping all parts of the whole grain, ensuring that the nutritious qualities are retained. The wheat is then batch-cooked with water, malt, and other tasty ingredients to create a flavourful dough. Next, the dough is cured to develop its flavour further before being passed through four sets of shredding rolls, creating the signature four layered lattice! The dough is then cut into squares, specifically designed to capture the delicious taste and satisfying crunch. Finally, the Shreddies are toasted to greation. This process enhances the flavour and provides Shreddies with their distinctive crunchy texture. ### Are Shreddies® healthy? Shreddies® Original can be included as part of a healthy and balanced breakfast. They have no red traffic lights according to the UK government's front-of-pack labelling scheme. Shreddies® Original are high in fibre and are a source of iron. Iron contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism.   ## SHREDDIES® Recipes to Get You Inspired [![Shreddies Christmas Tartlets](/uk/sites/g/files/qirczx836/files/styles/1_1_450px_width/public/srh_recipes/4a0020a638d45ff0c0612ffd199cb659.jpg.webp?itok=BMaFcbEV "Shreddies Christmas Tartlets") DESSERTS Shreddies® ### Shreddies® Christmas Crunch Tartlets Recipe View more ](/uk/cereal-recipes/desserts/christmas-tartlets "Shreddies® Christmas Crunch Tartlets Recipe") [![EASTER NO-BAKE SHREDDIES CARROT CAKE BALLS](/uk/sites/g/files/qirczx836/files/styles/1_1_450px_width/public/srh_recipes/190a824aa545d012368b7925ea0b1e79.jpg.webp?itok=37vB4vwu "EASTER NO-BAKE SHREDDIES CARROT CAKE BALLS") DESSERTS Shreddies® ### No-Bake Shreddies® Carrot Cake Balls Recipe View more ](/uk/cereal-recipes/desserts/no-bake-carrot-cake-balls "No-Bake Shreddies® Carrot Cake Balls Recipe") [![Shreddies peanut butter and raisins bars](/uk/sites/g/files/qirczx836/files/styles/1_1_450px_width/public/srh_recipes/cd8d296d2f16f080bdf84de1028eed54.png.webp?itok=InQb-siA "Shreddies peanut butter and raisins bars") ON-THE-GO Shreddies® ### Peanut Butter & Raisin Bars Recipe -
