The Nutritional Benefits of Cereals

Our Renovation Journey to Make Breakfast Better

We want to ensure that the cereals we create for families everywhere can be enjoyed as part of a healthy and balanced diet. That’s why, over the past 18 years, we’ve been on a journey to improve our recipes to make breakfast even better.

We have worked on reformulating our product portfolio, focusing on increasing whole grain and fibre while significantly reducing sugar and salt. And doing so while keeping the same great taste that our customers love.

What are breakfast cereals?

There is a lot more to cereals than what meets the eye. Cereals are the starchy seeds of grass plants such as wheat, corn, barley, rye, millet, or rice. Breakfast cereals are made from these grains and are often fortified with a range of essential vitamins and minerals to provide part of the necessary daily nourishment.

THE NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS OF CEREALS

Breakfast cereals are convenient and taste great. But there are even more reasons why we love them so much. Cereals come with nutritional benefits too. Here are a few ways they can improve your diet when adding them to your daily breakfast routine.

MORE WHOLE GRAINS & FIBRE

Improving the nutritional profile of our portfolio is important to us.

We believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We make over 25 different cereals - giving everyone an option for a tasty and convenient start to the day.

WORKING WITH LEADING EXPERTS

OUR TEAMS CONTINUE TO WORK WITH LEADING SCIENTISTS AND NUTRITIONISTS ON OUR RENOVATION JOURNEY.

In 2018 we worked with the International Breakfast Research Initiative (IBRI), led by world-renowned nutrition experts, to help us define what a better breakfast looks like - find out more on this page

HELPING YOU TO MAKE BETTER CHOICES

As part of our ongoing commitment to making breakfast better, we are constantly looking at new ways to help everyone make informed decisions about what they eat. At Nestlé Breakfast Cereals we understand the role of whole grain as an important part of a varied, balanced diet.

This is why all of our cereals carrying the Green Banner have a minimum 8g of whole grain per 30g serving. When you see the Green Banner, you can be sure that whole grain is the number one ingredient in that product.

Reaping the nutritional benefits of cereal doesn’t have to be boring, that’s why we have so many delicious kinds of cereal on offer, for everyone.
