We’re taking action on fibre

Cereal Partners Worldwide (CPW) UK, makers of Nestlé Breakfast Cereals, have joined food manufacturers across the UK and the Food & Drink Federation to pledge to take action on fibre.

Fibre is an important part of our diet and we don’t eat enough. In fact, only 9% of adults consume the recommended amount of fibre, according to the Food and Drink Federation

To tackle this challenge, we are committed to:

  • Playing our part in helping to bridge the gap between the UK’s dietary recommendation for fibre and actual fibre intakes.

  • Planning to help bridge the fibre gap through a combination of actions.

  • Developing new and tasty breakfast cereals that are sources of fibre.

  • Executing a variety of marketing initiatives focused on promoting whole grains. This will include supporting national and international initiatives such as International Whole Grain Day.

Making Fibre Easy: How We're Helping You Start Strong

Action on Fibre aims to help bridge the gap between fibre intakes and the dietary recommendation by making higher fibre diets more appealing, normal and easy for the population.

Starting your day with fibre doesn’t have to be complicated. Whole-grain cereals make it simple to add more fibre to your mornings – no new habits, just great-tasting breakfasts.

For example, you can easily boost your fibre intake with cereals such as:

Making fibre part of your morning can be simple and enjoyable. With a few high fibre breakfast ideas, like pairing our cereals with fruit, water and a source of protein, your everyday breakfast can feel a little more balanced.

But it’s not just fibre that we’re carefully including in our cereals. We also ensure our cereals are packed with whole grains. Find out why it’s important to eat whole grain in our day-to-day diet and how you can be sure that our cereals with the green banner contain at least 8 grams of whole grain in each serving.
