Do Nestlé breakfast cereals around the world all contain the same amount of sugar? If not, why not?

No. As tastes vary from region to region, the amount of sugar we add to our cereals depends on where they’re being sold. But we’re committed to ensuring the added sugar levels in our products for children and teenagers won’t exceed 9g per 30g serving from the end of 2015. And we’re always looking for ways to reduce sugar in our products – wherever in the world they’re sold.

How Much Fibre Should I be Eating?

According to the NHS, the recommended daily intake of fibre in the UK is 30 grams for adults, 15 grams a day for kids between 2-5 years old and 20 grams a day for kids between 5-11 years old. Aim for variety of different foods including whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes. Our fibre-rich cereals such as Original Shreddies®, or Multigrain Cheerios® can also help achieve the recommended amounts.

To reflect 2022 sunflower oil supply issues: Will consumers notice a difference when you move to palm oil?

No, they shouldn’t. All of our cereals have a clear and consistent ingredient specification and manufacturing process – the type of vegetable oil should not materially change the taste.

Why is Whole grain important?

Whole grain provides a range benefits – fibre, carbohydrates, proteins, some lipids and B vitamins, Minerals and antioxidants. You'll find at least 8g of whole grain per 30g serving from any of our breakfast cereals with the Nestlé Green Banner! Read more
